The Scottish Parliament Elections are fast approaching. We have three fantastic candidates in Aberdeen; Liam Kerr for South; Douglas Lumsden for Central; Harriet Cross for Donside. Can you help by delivering a few leaflets when we can get back to campaigning? Even if you could deliver to your own street or anywhere you prefer it would be greatly appreciated. If you'd like to be more involved even better. Please just reply to this email. We are building up our lists of helpers for next year. I hope you'll want to join the winning team!

A message from Liam Kerr MSP
Parliament was back in session this week, although in fewer numbers to respect vital social distancing guidance. While the Coronavirus outbreak has changed the way that MSPs work, it is vital that we continue to hold the government to account and offer constructive opposition.
After significant pressure from the Scottish Conservatives, I am pleased that the SNP finally listened to our concerns and increased the amount of support available for businesses. However, there is still more work to be done to ensure that everyone in Scotland is supported in this challenging time.
This week in parliament I asked the First Minister to provide much needed clarity on the apparently conflicting Scottish Government advice being given to oil and gas companies, which form an integral part of the North East economy and need the correct guidance to operate safely.
I also challenged the Justice Secretary to justify the SNP’s plans to release prisoners early due to the Coronavirus outbreak and asked how the rights of victims and public safety will be maintained.
I will continue to keep you updated on these issues as soon I hear of any new developments. If there is anything I can help with, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Keep calm and shop local
A fantastic list of smaller businesses offering food deliveries in Aberdeen and the surrounding area has been compiled by local blogger Foodie Quine by Claire Jessiman. If you know of any other local businesses doing their bit to help at this time, please get in touch to help spread the word!
Prime Minister Boris Johnson
"I know it is tough and I want to get this economy moving as fast as I can.
"But I refuse to throw away all the effort and the sacrifice of the British people and to risk a second major outbreak and huge loss of life and the overwhelming of the NHS.
"And I ask you to contain your impatience because I believe we are coming now to the end of the first phase of this conflict.
"And in spite of all the suffering we have so nearly succeeded."
"We defied so many predictions.
"We did not run out of ventilators or ICU beds.
"We did not allow our NHS to collapse."
